Bridal Bouquets Melbourne – Fay Flowers Studio

The Bouquet You Carry Says Something

Before you’ve said a single word at your ceremony, your flowers are already telling people something about your day.
A loose, garden-style arrangement with soft movement says something different to a tight, structured posy. Deep burgundy and blush together read differently to all-white with sculptural greenery. The size of what you’re holding, the way it sits against your dress, the scent of it as you walk, all of it adds up to a moment that, if it’s right, you’ll barely have to think about. You’ll just feel it.
That’s what we’re working toward when we design bridal bouquets. Not just flowers that look good in photos, though they will – but something that feels completely natural in your hands.

Designed Around You, Not a Catalogue

A lot of florists will show you a portfolio and ask you to pick your favourite. We do show you our work, but that’s the starting point of the conversation, not the end of it.
We want to know what your dress looks like. What the venue feels like in the afternoon. Whether you’re the kind of person who gravitates toward something refined and understated or something that makes a statement. Whether the wedding is intimate or large. Whether your bridesmaids’ bouquets need to feel cohesive with yours or deliberately different.
Our wedding bouquets are designed with all of that in mind – not just what looks beautiful in isolation, but what works as part of the complete day.

Bouquet Styles We Create

Every bridal bouquet we make is bespoke, but here are the styles we work in most often and what tends to suit each one.
Classic round posy structured, symmetrical, and timeless. Works beautifully for formal venues and fitted gowns. Easy to hold and photograph from any angle.
Garden-style / organic loose, flowing, with seasonal blooms and natural movement. Suits outdoor ceremonies, relaxed styling, and brides who want something that looks like it was gathered from a beautiful garden that morning.
Cascading bouquet – a dramatic, trailing arrangement that works particularly well with full skirts and grand ceremony spaces. These take more time to create but the result is genuinely striking.
Simple bridal flower bouquet sometimes a single variety, sometimes a tight cluster of just two or three blooms. Understated, elegant, and often the most memorable. A simple wedding bouquet with flowers chosen carefully can outperform a complicated arrangement every time.
Textural and sculptural built around form, foliage, dried elements, or unusual blooms. For brides who want something that doesn’t look like every other wedding bouquet they’ve seen.

The Bridesmaids’ Bouquets

A bride’s bouquet doesn’t exist in isolation it’s the centrepiece of a group. The way it relates to what your bridesmaids are carrying matters.
We design all the wedding party florals together, so everything reads as a considered whole rather than a collection of separate decisions. Usually the bridal flower bouquet is the most detailed and abundant piece, with the bridesmaids carrying something slightly simpler that echoes the palette and mood without competing.
Some couples prefer their bridesmaids to carry identical smaller versions of the bridal bouquet. Others want each bridesmaid’s bouquet slightly different, tied together only by colour. We can work either way, we just ask upfront so the design is intentional from the start.

What Do Bridal Bouquets Cost?

Wedding bouquet prices vary depending on the flowers chosen, the size of the arrangement, and the complexity of the design. Wedding bouquet cost is affected by:

Flower selection – imported or out-of-season blooms cost more than locally sourced, seasonal flowers
Size and volume – a full, lush arrangement uses significantly more stems than a simple posy
Design complexity – cascading styles and sculptural arrangements take more time to construct
Extras – ribbon finishing, stem wrapping, and personalised details like brooches or charm ties

At Fay Flowers Studio, we don’t publish fixed packages because we don’t believe in fixed designs. After an initial consultation, we’ll give you a clear, itemised quote based on your actual brief, so there are no surprises.

How the Process Works

Step 1 – Initial enquiry. You reach out and tell us a little about your wedding: the date, the venue, your general vision. We’ll confirm availability and set up a consultation.
Step 2 – Design consultation. This is where we get into the details. We talk through your dress, your venue, your colour preferences, and the overall feeling you’re after. Bring photos, screenshots, fabric swatches, anything that helps communicate your vision.
Step 3 – Design proposal. We put together a bespoke design direction for your bouquet of bride and the rest of the wedding party florals, including a mood board and bloom selections.
Step 4 – Confirmation and sourcing. Once you’re happy with the direction, we lock in your flowers and begin sourcing. We work seasonally where possible and prioritise quality at every step.
Step 5 – Wedding day. Your bridal bouquets arrive on the day, exactly as planned, ready for the moment you need them.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book a florist for my bridal bouquet?

Most florists recommend booking at least 6–9 months before your wedding date, particularly for peak season dates (spring and autumn in Melbourne). If your wedding is sooner, it’s still worth enquiring — we do accommodate shorter lead times when availability allows.

Can I see examples of your previous bridal bouquets?

Yes. We share portfolio images during consultation and on our Instagram. We’d rather show you our actual work than stock images, so everything you see is a real Fay Flowers Studio design.

Do you create matching bridesmaid bouquets and buttonholes?

Yes, we design all wedding party florals together. Bridesmaids’ bouquets, buttonholes, flower girl posies, and wearable florals are all designed to work as a cohesive set alongside your bridal bouquet.

What if I’m not sure what style I want?

That’s completely normal, and honestly it’s one of the things we’re most useful for. Bring us anything, a vibe, a colour, a feeling, a venue and we’ll translate it into a design direction. You don’t need to arrive with a fully formed brief.

Can I request specific flowers for my bridal flower bouquet?

Absolutely. If you have flowers that are meaningful to you, something from a family garden, a bloom that reminds you of something, a variety you’ve always loved we’ll do everything we can to include them. We’ll also let you know if availability or seasonality is a factor.

How are the bouquets delivered on the day?

We coordinate delivery directly with you or your wedding planner. Flowers arrive in water and in purpose-built packaging to keep them in perfect condition right up until you’re ready to carry them.
